A WHOLE NEW HOME

I honestly don't imagined that I could have the chance to learn about the cultures of others. I'am open to change and criticisms but it was really hard for me to learn and accept those. And that happens when you have been living in just one place for your whole life and you have never seen the other side of the world for you focused only in one thing.

But at this very moment, I let people to manage my life in here. The question is, will I survive?

Our first day went very well. We woke up early for our Bahasa Indonesia class held at 11:00 am in UNIPMA campus. Ibu Ermi, Ibu Lusi and Ibu Yunita gave us this chance to learn about Indonesian Language and culture. We had also the chance to apply our new learned words by talking to each other in Indonesian way. Upon studying their culture, we somehow can compare and share our own culture too. And this is maybe the real purpose of this part, understanding of the diverse world.

This would be paradise...: Welcome

Special thanks to our buddies for making everything so easy for us. They translated the words our teachers can't express in universal language. They become the way for a good understanding. Truly, language is not even a barrier to make friends. It is us by our hearts who will build the bridge between us and our culture to be united.

Together, we ate lunch in Angkringan Rute 57 near at the campus. A nice place with a very great ambiance. What happens here is what we call the getting to know each other stage. We had the chance to share some thoughts about each others culture and traditions. We get to learn our similarities and differences which I believed is the good start for us all to get along with each other well.

Later in the afternoon, UNIPMA PGRI Madiun gave us a very warmed welcome. Especially, Mr. Dwi Setiyadi, Vice Rector I, Dr. Sigit Ricahyono, head of International Office, Ma'am Asri, one of their staff, Ma'am Agita Risma, the Vice Head of International Office and Ibu Tari, the coordinator of Sea Teacher in UNIPMA made us feel that I and other participants of Sea Teachers also from the Philippines and Thailand have our place in their school and in Madiun.

After having the momentous welcome, Ibu Tari oriented us to what are the things we should accomplished during our stay and what our everyday would be like here in Madiun.

UNCOVER

Like a hero, it's up to me if I will go against the darkness or choose the brighter side and then walk into town while discovering new people and new memories along the way. Because like every story, is everything as they seem?

Still uncovering the strange happenings, finding the missing pieces of untold stories near and far. I hope I could save not just the good one.

This would be paradise...: About

The day after, we had our campus tour. We visited three campuses of UNIPMA. We were accompanied by our buddies, Okta and Nisa from English Department. They made sure that we know every part of the campus so that when we need something we can just go in the campus by ourselves.

In life, you will be encountering a lot of people. Some will stay, others will go. But the most important thing is the memories you've shared. Different place but same nationalism. As I start my discovery and learning, Lynton and KC becomes part of it. They are from the Mariano Marcos State University in Ilocos Norte. Together, we explore Indonesia with pride of being a Filipino.

A real paradise, indeed. Not because of what I saw by my eyes. Not because of how organized it was. What made everything paradise is the beauty within the smiles and eyes of the people.
